The Flower Fields

What a better way to welcome spring than to be surrounded by thousands of blooming flowers. It has been a couple of years since I’ve been wanting to visit The Flower Fields. It is 50 acres in Carlsbad, filled with different colored giant tecolote ranunculus flowers. They only bloom 6-8 weeks, from early March to early May, so it doesn’t really give a big time frame to visit.

Here are a couple of things to know (more information can also be found here):

  • Entrance fee for adults is $16
  • They offer tractor rides around the field for $5
  • There are designated areas where you may stand, and they strictly enforce that you don’t cross over (learned it from personal experience)

Getting there, I was in awe with the beauty of the flowers and how many there were. Of course, it is the perfect place to take lots of photos. And since we weren’t allowed to walk in between the flowers, working the angles with the area you were allowed to step on was a bit challenging but at the end worth it. I know this place has been seen all over instagram but before the time frame is over, I highly recommend planning a visit.
