Saturday

The morning in Wuxi started with a visit to Lake Taihu. We had an hour to explore the enormous park and even got the chance to join a local in his morning Tai Chi exercise.

Right after, we headed out the pearl farm. Here we got to see how the freshwater pearls were collected and processed to be made into jewelry.

Around the corner of the pearl farm, there was a restaurant where we had lunch. And luckily, right outside where the bus was waiting there were fruit vendors. For the three hour drive out to Hangzhou, it came quite in handy.

After finally arriving to Hangzhou, we headed out to watch “The Most Romantic Show in Songcheng” in Songcheng Park. Inside is a very lively atmosphere with music, food and souvenirs everywhere.

This group wanted to take a picture with us.

The next morning in Hangzhou, the day was rainy. We headed out to the West Lake Cultural Landscape where we walked through the beautiful landscape filled with trees, flowers, and a huge lake. We took a boat ride through the whole lake.

After exploring the park, we headed to the tea plantation. Here we learned how they grow and pick the tea leaves. Also, how long each bush needs to grow and the properties and benefits that each type of tea has.

Any tea lovers would definitely love it here. It was a very interesting last stop in Hangzhou before heading out on a 2.5 hour drive to Shanghai.

Stay tuned for the last two blog posts on my China trip. And while you’re here don’t forget to like and follow! 🙂
